Though she's talked to animals all her life, Teresa has been practicing animal communication professionally since 1991. She has a master's degree in counseling, an undergraduate degree in psychology, and has done post graduate work at Columbia University and the University of Nottingham, England. She has designed and led workshops of many kinds for over 25 years, and has facilitated ocean journeys to swim with cetaceans since 1999. For several years, she specialized in the field of grief and traumatic stress, especially regarding how these issues impact people who love and care for animals. She has facilitated pet loss support groups and workshops for people grieving the loss of their animal companions, and compassion fatigue workshops for animal shelter workers throughout the U.S. She is author of audio book Legacies of Love, A Gentle Guide to Healing From the Loss of Your Animal Loved One. Teresa has been named to Who's Who of American Women, has been a regularly invited speaker at the national conferences of animal welfare groups such as The Humane Society of the United States and American Humane Association. She has served on the boards of Friends of Monterey County Wildlife, Horse Power Protection Projects, Inc., and Assisi International Animal Institute. Her healing arts education includes animal communication with Jeri Ryan, flower essence training at FES and Perelandra, energy healing training in Reiki, Therapeutic Touch ,Tellington-Touch and psychic studies with Evelyn Isadore. Prior to her work with animals and people who love them, she worked for fifteen years as a training and organization development manager with RCA in New York City and New Jersey, and later as a organization development consultant to corporations throughout the U.S. She lives in Carmel, California with the two most wonderful cats in the universe, near the whales, harbor seals, sea otters and sea lions of Monterey Bay. |
