Departure, Location and Climate:

Trip departure is from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. From here, we board our live aboard boat, Bottom Time II, at approximately 7:30 am Saturday morning. The cruise from port to Bimini, Bahamas is approximately 2 1/2 - 3 hours. The boat arrives back in port by 10 am the following Friday morning.

In scheduling flights for arrival, be sure you arrive in Fort Lauderdale by Friday evening. For flights home, you can schedule departing flights beginning at twelve noon or later the following Friday.

Swimming on the The Great Bahama Bank north of Bimini is a unique experience in one of the few known areas in the world that free roaming dolphins interact with humans in the water. This remote area of the Bahamas is not accessible to cruise ships which limits the trip to small groups of people and acts as a safety valve preventing harm to the dolphins' environment.

Summer in the Bahamas is spectacular with temperature ranging from 76-85 F moderated by cool ocean breezes. Ocean temperatures very between 78-85 F with visibility of 60-100 feet.
