Some of the most
touching and rewarding moments of my life have been during consultations
with animals and their people. It is a privilege to be part of the sacred
connection between you. In attempting to help you meet your needs, my
own goals for private consultations are to:
1. Provide accurate
translation of any of the information, feelings, and energies that
you and your animal wish to express to each other.
2. Beyond translation,
to bring you my deepest sense of empathy, compassion, non-judgment,
love and my full presence and attention to support you
and your animals in understanding and integrating your messages for
each other.

What
to Expect in a Session
1. At the beginning
of our phone call we will take a few minutes to answer any questions
you may have to help you feel comfortable with what to expect, for me
to get a physical description of your animal, and to clarify your goals
for the session. To spend less of your session time reviewing these issues
and more time talking with your animals, you can send a physical description
of your animals and your goals for the session in writing before the session.
2. To begin
the actual session I will take a few quiet moments to get centered
and to set an intention that all that occurs will be for the
highest good for both you and your animal loved ones. Immediately after
this I will ask to be connected to the spirit and essence of your animal.
You will know that has happened when I start speaking again out loud to
tell you the connection has been made.
3. From this
point on, your session will be quite interactive among you, your
animal and me. I will not be talking with your animal for 10 or
20 minute blocks of time and then report back a summary to you. I have
found that sessions are much richer when interactive. I will let you know
almost sentence by sentence, question by question, answer by answer, what
your animals are saying, how they are responding, so you can experience
and respond to the subtleties of all they are communicating. It might
help to think of the consultation as literally a conversation with your
animal, with me nearby as the translator, just as a translator interprets
a conversation between two humans who speak different languages.
4. The way
I receive information from the animals can take several different
forms. Sometimes I hear actual words and phrases, sometimes
pictures or images, and often pure emotion or energy. When
I translate your animal's words, you might hear me say "this is a
quote," or "these are their words." When they show me images,
or let me feel their feelings or energy, I have to use my own words to
describe this to you. I will let you know the distinction between their
direct quotes and my words. Sometimes, especially when the emotions or
issues involved are layered or complex, it can be hard for an animal to
send clear, specific or complete messages. In these instances, in trying
to put the pieces together, to find the pattern of their messages, I will
give you what I call my "subjective interpretation." This is
not direct translation, but my own attempt to make sense of the energies
and messages felt. I will always let you know when this is what I am conveying.
5. Your animal
doesn't have to be physically near you during the session. Physical
presence is not needed for telepathic communication because we are connecting
to the spirit of the animal, to their essence. This is what also allows
us to connect to the spirit of an animal who has died. If your animal
is physically present with you during the session, it is hard to predict
how they might physically react. Some animals make it very obvious they
are aware of the conversation. For instance, they may keep eye contact
with their person, or react emotionally to what is being said. Some will
walk into the room during the conversation, then when the conversation
is over, lie down or leave the room. Others may simply sleep, groom, or
otherwise act like nothing special is going on.
7. You don't
have to do anything special to make the session work. Just relax,
sit back, ask your questions, and let me do the work and focusing for
you. There will be a fair amount of silent time on your end when I am
talking telepathically to your animal. It's natural and normal for your
mind to wander off to unrelated topics during these quiet times. That's
perfectly OK and does not effect the quality of the session. No need to
feel guilty if you think about unrelated issues while waiting for me to
resume speaking.
8. There are
no right or wrong questions to ask. It's OK to ask anything. Just
as with people, if you bring up a topic your animal doesn't want to talk
about, she or he will let you know.
9. This is
your conversation, with your beloved animal. You might want to
think of me as the translator and support person helping you have a conversation
and better understand what is in the heart and mind of your animal. But
it is not in my place to tell you what to do, or to impose my values or
solutions. I may at times make suggestions to help you meet your stated
goals--perhaps a flower essence which may help your animal continue healing
beyond the conversation we'll have. I might also suggest that you ask
a certain question of your animal, or that you tell them something. Any
such suggestion is just that--a suggestion. Any suggestions I might make
or resource I might reference is offered with the intention of helping
you meet your goals. You will not offend me if you say "Thank you
but I don't want to go in that direction." I will not attempt to
tell you what you should or must do, but rather will support you in determining
what you believe is best for you, your animal and your situation.
10. Please
be assured that all information about your consultation is confidential.

How
To Get The Most Out of Your Session
1. Clarify
your goals. Prior to your session, think through what you most
want to accomplish from it. What might you want to learn from your animal,
tell them, hear from them, etc.? This process can help you spend your
session time as efficiently and effectively as possible. And, my being
aware of your goals helps me be sure to listen for subtle cues from your
animals about each of your concerns.
2. Multiple
animals. If you want to speak with more than one animal, please
mail or fax the following information on each animal before
your session. This will help ensure that you will spend more of your
paid session time actually talking to your animals rather than simply
describing them:
Name
Species and breed (e.g. cat, domestic shorthair)
Color (e.g. gray with white paws, chin and chest)
Gender and whether neutered (e.g. female, spayed)
Age and how long you have lived together (e.g. she's 9 years old, have
since she's two)
How you came to live together (e.g. adopted from shelter)
3. Photos.
I do not need a photo of your animal to make a telepathic connection..
Though I very much enjoy looking at their pictures, they aren't necessary.
However, when you have more than two animals of the same breed or similar
appearance, photos can help me focus more quickly on "who is who."
So, if this is your situation, it can help to send photos. If you would
like them returned, please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope.
Otherwise, I will keep them in your file.
4. Keep an
open heart and open mind to what you may hear from your animal,
while remaining unattached to the outcome.

5. Please note that I do not do "proof" readings--in which the client needs to ask a series of questions demanding "proof" that I am connected to their animal. It is understandable that people who are not yet experienced in gathering intuitvely derived information within themselves may still feel a need for external proof that animal communication is real or even possible. The need to ask information validation questions in sessions is an indication that the person asking does not yet trust intuitively derived information and is asking someone outside of themselves to make that leap for them. Though I respect where anyone may be on their path in understanding animal communication, I am not interested in making the leap of faith for them by jumping through hoops of "proof questions." I prefer to help people learn to make that leap for themselves through my workshops and in mentoring, where they can learn directly, for themselves, what it is like to ask for and receive information from animals. So if you are in a place of still needing "proof" via asking validation questions in an animal communication session, I would not be the appropriate animal communication consultant for you.
